Cobscook Bay is on the Atlantic Flyway thereby hosting a large number
of land and water bird species. It is also the prime wintering area for
bald eagles in Eastern Maine. Birds are seen in many places (for more information
see Day Trips / Birdwatching ), not least
at the cottage along the bay front, the woods road, and even the front veranda.
Deer, snowshoe hares, porcupines, and red squirrels live on the property.
Moose, bobcats and bears occasionally wander through, though you
probably won't see them. A few harmless garter snakes make their home in the stonework
around the cottage. Harbor seals often pass by offshore.
